What's your business, and who are your customers?
We make human-grade, fresh, all-natural dog food. Our customers are folks who know that a fresh diet of meat, veggies, and fruits is best for their dogs.
Tell us about yourself
My dog Zuri was sick when she was a pup. I tried different kibble foods, but nothing was helping. She would throw up, have runny stools, her coat was falling out, and she would scratch herself to the point of bleeding. In addition, she wouldn't finish her bowl of food. I started making her food, and within a week, her symptoms cleared up, and she was healthy! Knowing how crucial diet is for a canine, I'm inspired each day to help folks feed their dogs well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting the highest grade ingredients delivered to dogs and their owners via environmentally friendly packaging. None of our competitors can do the latter. Ours is the only company to offer recyclable paper packaging instead of plastic.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The day-to-day operations...managing shipping, raw ingredients, inventory, employees, accounting, etc.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start by doing SOMETHING. Build from there.
- Be patient.
- Enjoy the process, even the dirty parts.
