Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Monica Vallero, Founder of Zone Of Genius LLC., located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a holistic business coach, and I blend strategy with inner work to help my clients, coaches, and healers to build a successful coaching business so they can work less and make a bigger impact.

Tell us about yourself

I started as a transformational coach and then became a clinical hypnotherapist, and I experienced many people achieve ever-lasting change. I then noticed that although I had built a successful coaching business, there were other coaches and healers who lacked the knowledge and support to build their six-figure business, so I just responded to what the market wanted; more and more, I started to help them build their business from the ground up with major success, in all fronts, personal and of course in their business. This is what makes me get up early in the morning because so many talented people stay unseen and not living their true potential, so it's my mission to help them take off and become profitable with their purpose.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Besides achieving six figures, a huge accomplishment of mine is to see my clients every day, from not making money or a few hundred here and there to reaching 10k per month so they can actually live their dream.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a wife, pregnant, and a mom of a toddler, sometimes it's hard not to feel some guilt towards them; even if I don't work too much like a regular job, I want to make sure I give enough time and presence to my husband, kids and to myself too. So it's always a matter of balance, of what's needed at that moment.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take care of the inner work (Healing) first; otherwise, the strategies you will apply won't work or last.
  2. Hire a coach who you resonate with (even if you can't afford it right now, be curious and just talk to them), let them guide you with the right steps, and commit to doing the work 100%.
  3. Connect to your vision and higher self every day so that it will not just motivate you but will also help you change what's not working.
