What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a freelance medical editor. I help scientists and academics communicate their research more effectively through developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. My clients are mostly medical journals but also individual authors who wish to increase the quality of their papers. I recently started a coaching program where I guide young researchers through the process of writing a first-class scientific manuscript.
Tell us about yourself
I have a passion for science, a Ph.D. in medicine, and more than 12 years of experience in medical publishing. I was born in Romania as a member of the Hungarian minority and started learning English at a very young age. I graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Târgu Mureș, Romania. During my student years, I developed an early interest in scientific research. After graduation, I joined a medical publisher, where that interest has turned into a passion. Soon, I became a freelance language editor, helping researchers who use English as a second language publish their papers and reach their academic goals. Being able to combine my love for English and science and help scientists turn years of research into a clear, concise, and impactful manuscript is an immense daily motivation. I live in Târgu Mureș with my wife, two boys, and our golden retriever, Bongo.
