What's your business, and who are your customers?
Zephie’s Cakes & Desserts is a home-based vegan bakery! We sell cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, and custom cakes. My customer is anyone who has an event or just want a sweet treat, either vegan or non-vegan!
Tell us about yourself
I have been baking since the age of 7, so this has been a passion of mine for a long time! As soon as I learned how to make my first cake, I fell in love! As I got older, I did more research and practiced more until I felt confident enough to start a business! Every day I think about where I started, and I see my younger self, and she’s proud of me and motivates me to be better every day! Even on the hard days, I push through because this is what I want!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner at the moment is getting to the point where I’m selling out at certain pop-up events! I never thought I’d be at this point!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is having to do it all! Especially when you’re pretty much a one-person show! You have to figure everything out on your own and sometimes work long nights and early mornings.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Whatever you do, don’t ever stop chasing your dreams!
