What's your business, and who are your customers?

ZuriLife Events & Bridal Styling is a bridal styling and bridal event focus business. Zuri Brides are modern working and all about loving life women from the ages of 25 to 55. As a Bridal Stylist, I provide a personalized shopping experience with an expert and unbiased eye, ensuring that brides make the perfect dress section for their special day.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Fashion Bridal Stylist and Bridal Event Planner that is also certified in Events Management & Wedding Planning. During my 20 years in the military, I did a lot of event planning for the Navy as well as for fellow sailors. After planning my sister's wedding and creating her pretty & chic bridal look along with styling her wedding party, I knew I had to join the bridal industry.

I decided that if I merged all of my passions together, which are event planning, weddings, and fashion, into one, I would no longer have to work because I am doing what I love most. Bringing joy to women and seeing them in the space of love motivates me to continue my journey of styling and planning for brides. I am a creative that is fulfilling my life purpose.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was hired by Posh & Private to assist on the day of the wedding of Houston's Mayor's beautiful daughter(bride), which led me to meet her wedding dress designer, Nma Couture. From there, I was given the opportunity to assist Nma Couture on the photo shoot for her amazing bridal collection.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Accepting that the small failures will lead to that one big win. Patience is one of the hardest things, especially when you are a new entrepreneur.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire a business coach if possible.
  2. Research the market and competitors.
  3. Find a mentor in that industry.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I style more. You (Bride) worry less. Fashion is a form of self-expression, and your bridal look is no exception! Empowered Brides are the Best Brides!
