What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a career coach who specializes in guiding women through the process of career exploration and identifying their next move. What sets my coaching apart is my focus on empowering women to navigate the emotional aspects of their career journey. I help clients overcome obstacles and reignite their passion for their profession while making informed decisions that align with their goals.
My clients are driven, ambitious women committed to achieving success in their careers. My expertise includes developing job search essentials such as resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles. I also provide interview preparation and guide clients through the process of salary negotiation.
Tell us about yourself
My career coaching passion developed organically through mentoring college women, obtaining a counseling psychology master's degree, and serving as an HR manager. I'm motivated by others' potential and have a talent for recognizing unique abilities. Creating a comfortable space for my clients is vital to me, allowing them to thrive authentically. I tailor each coaching journey to meet clients' individual needs by meeting them where they are. Emphasizing authenticity, I help clients achieve career success and fulfillment.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
One of my most significant achievements as a coach is seeing my clients become more aligned and better prepared to achieve their career goals. As I help individuals reach their goals, I always strive to exceed their expectations, and it's incredibly rewarding to hear that they feel they received more from the coaching program than they intended. I take great pride in my ability to guide my clients toward success and to provide them with valuable insights that they may not have considered before. It's incredibly fulfilling to see the positive impact that my coaching has on individuals' lives and careers.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a business owner, I've encountered the challenge of imposter syndrome, which is something many people can relate to. While it can be difficult to navigate at times, I welcome the experience as it allows me to better connect with my clients and understand what they may be going through. I believe that being vulnerable and honest about my own experiences is key to building strong and trusting relationships with my clients. By sharing my struggles and challenges, I can show them that they are not alone and that together, we can work towards overcoming any obstacles that may arise.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Starting a business can be intimidating, especially in the beginning stages, but it's important to embrace the discomfort and see it as a sign that you are on the right path. Pushing through your fears and taking action toward your goals will bring you closer to success.
- Mistakes are an inevitable part of being a business owner, but it's crucial to forgive yourself and learn from them. The ability to bounce back from setbacks and keep moving forward is what sets successful entrepreneurs apart.
- It's natural to look to others for inspiration and motivation, but comparing your journey to theirs can be counterproductive. Instead, focus on your own progress and celebrate your unique strengths and achievements. By embracing your own authenticity, you'll attract clients who resonate with your values and vision.
- Authenticity is key to building strong connections with others, and this is especially true in business. By being true to yourself and showing up authentically, you'll attract the right clients and create a fulfilling and successful business.
