What's your business, and who are your customers?

Yumwoof is on a mission to extend the health span of all dogs. Our soft and chewy premium food takes minimally processed fresh ingredients. It offers it in a ready-to-serve way without refrigeration or artificial preservatives. Our #1 best-selling product is Perfect Kibble, a premium homemade dog food with higher antioxidants and MCT oil than any other brand. It's low carb too!

Tell us about yourself

I'm a reformed investment banker who started one of the first venture capital-backed bitcoin exchanges in the US. After a year in meditation, I decided to do something I felt would have a positive and tangible impact on the world. That led my co-founders and me to start Yumwoof. We felt we could create better homemade dog food than what was currently out there.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting our products to fit into my idealistic low-carb macros has been my favorite accomplishment. It's not easy to create a product with fresh ingredients AND a one-year shelf life. Add to that making it low carb and not crazy expensive for consumers—it's almost impossible, but we did it!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Marketing in today's post-Facebook world is certainly a challenge that requires tons of creativity. The new environment requires more organic viral strategies that focus on community.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Create a differentiated product. Maintain as high gross margins as possible. Build relationships with TikTok influencers.
