What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a 200-hour certified Yoga Teacher on Long Island. I teach adults, seniors, children, and individuals with special needs and Autism.
Tell us about yourself
I started teaching yoga as a hobby. I took a 200-hour training while I was in between jobs and then started holding classes after completing my training. They started going so well that I quit my corporate job and became a full-time yoga teacher. I love helping people through their spiritual journey and being a guiding light if they are going through a rough time in their life, which turns them to this practice of healing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have taught over five thousand yoga classes since I began teaching five years ago and have met countless individuals who I have been able to help.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Sometimes classes can be slow, and I always have to keep things interesting with my classes to keep clients engaged.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Knock on everyone's door; someone will believe in you and give you the opportunity.
- Always keep up to date with industry trends.
- Keep learning and be open-minded.
