Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicki Anahata Musick, Founder of Yoga & Wellness with Anahata, located in Columbia, SC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is teaching Kundalini yoga (a gentle style and one that is more energetic), including meditation and the musical side of yoga. My customers are those seeking to connect with their feelings and find the strength and tenacity to go forward in these times.
Tell us about yourself
I was exposed to Kundalini yoga and meditation as a spiritual seeker in the early seventies. I grew in awareness of self-healing and how conflict and difficulty in life serve our spiritual growth. Each day, it is gratitude that motivates me because I exist yet another day, and I get to create as much fun and beauty as possible.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is relaxing more with the insanity of doing business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Over-identification and not knowing or enjoying who you are without the "business owner" identity.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Avoid always looking aside to see if you are ahead in the game.
- Don't bring the past forward every day or live in the future.
- Think more about wearing the coat of honor instead of the armor.
