Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Yanira Mendoza, Founder of Yanira Life Coaching, located in Houston, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Divorce Coach, and I help people to navigate through the challenging waters of divorce, breakups, and painful transitions.

Tell us about yourself

Working as a divorce paralegal for over 20 years, I saw many clients suffer and spend thousands of dollars due to the lack of education and emotional support while going through this painful process.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The satisfaction of helping others by sharing my wisdom with empathy and discipline.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a new entrepreneur is not easy, especially if outside factors are against you at the beginning of your entrepreneurship, in my case, the pandemic. Nonetheless, if you trust your product and your calling, you'll move forward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be sure you love what you do and that your business/services will benefit your clients. That alone is a source of satisfaction and the force that keeps you going.
  2. Take action. I know it can be challenging to try every day and not see fast results. Don't despair; everything takes time.
  3. Persistence. Don't give up; keep doing what you love. Soon, you will see that every effort and sacrifice was well worth it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The care of emotional support is underrated in many cultures and by many people. Emotions are hidden for many reasons. Unfortunately, that emotional discomfort will eventually take its toll on us; after all, we are only humans. Sometimes it is ok not to be ok. If you are going through a divorce process or through a tough situation, find emotional support immediately! Emotional balance is important to make conscious decisions. You will be glad you did.
