What's your business, and who are your customers?

World Pet Travel helps families reunite with their pets when relocating around the world for employment or a new chapter in their life. We facilitate the move of their beloved pets, working with local veterinarians, governments, and airlines to ensure a smooth and relatively stress-free relocation for the entire family.

Tell us about yourself

I love animals and especially those I have the honor of moving. The idea of helping a family reunite with their beloved pets after a sometimes long separation motivates me each day. It can be a very stressful process because we are moving a family member, not just a dog or cat. That is where my love of animals kicks in as we see these babies in our care as our own while working with them.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. This was quite an honor. This and that I am able to own a business of this magnitude as a woman makes me very proud and thankful.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Working the hours that I work. Even when I am off, I am on standby in one way or another. Can't stop caring just because the clock strikes 5:00 when we have animals in transit.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your homework.
  2. Don't try to do everything yourself.
  3. Treat your employees with respect, praising and rewarding as often as possible.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I would not be successful without my fabulous staff in my corner and backing me every day.
