Interested in starting your own journey in agriculture but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Randall Putala, CEO of World Hunger Team, located in Nashville, TN, USA.

What's your organization, and who are your members?

We are a non-profit that develops systems to grow food where little to no food is grown now. Our customers are people who do not have access to sufficient fresh food or clean potable water.

Tell us about yourself

I had the original vision for World Hunger Team over 40 years ago but chose to pursue business instead. Now, it is my life's mission, and I am motivated to provide the tools and technology to help people in need grow the food they need.

What's your biggest accomplishment as an organization?

Support two orphanages in Uganda, providing food to starving children.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being an organization?

Handling all of the mundane details of running a non-profit.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow an organization today?

  1. Understand WHY you are doing what you are doing.
  2. Realize that man can do nothing on his own. With God behind him, he can do anything.
  3. Ignore the critics. They wouldn't be criticizing you if they weren't secretly jealous of you.
