What's your business, and who are your customers?
Women of Project Management is a community for Black women and women of color in project management; our business focuses on empowering and supporting this specific demographic in their professional journeys. We provide a comprehensive membership platform that offers a wide range of benefits.
First and foremost, our membership includes access to over 70 courses tailored to project management professionals. These courses not only enhance their skills and knowledge but also enable them to earn professional development units, which are crucial for career advancement. We understand the importance of continuous learning and growth in the field of project management.
In addition to the educational aspect, our community offers a valuable network of over 1000 professional women working in project management. This network serves as a platform for collaboration, mentorship, and exchange of ideas. Our members have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build lasting relationships that can contribute to their professional success.

Tell us about yourself
I started this business because I personally experienced the need for such a community during my own career journey, and unfortunately, I couldn't find it, so I created it! Having worked in project management for several years, I understand firsthand the challenges and barriers that women, particularly Black women and women of color, often face in this industry. It became clear to me that there was a need for a supportive and empowering community that not only addressed these challenges but also celebrated the unique perspectives and contributions of diverse professionals.
What motivates me every day is my passion for project management and my unwavering belief in the power of representation and community support.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment has been the creation and growth of this community for Black women and women of color in project management. Building this platform from the ground up and seeing it evolve into a thriving and supportive ecosystem has been truly rewarding.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is the responsibility of making difficult decisions. As an entrepreneur, you often have to make choices that can have a significant impact on your business and overall success.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Create a comprehensive business plan that outlines your goals, target market, marketing strategies, financial projections, and operational details. A well-defined plan will serve as a roadmap and guide you through the initial stages of your business.
- Stay agile and open to innovation. Keep an eye on market trends and technological advancements.
- Most importantly, build a strong team of people you trust.
