Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Danielle Allen, co-owner of Two Birds Brewing, based in Melbourne, Australia.

Tell us all about your business...

Australia's first female-founded brewery! Ten years of inspiring (and tasty) beers for all people.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

After 10+ years of working in the corporate world, I knew I wanted to control my destiny. When I heard my business partner talk about some new beers ideas, I just knew that it was in my future to start a brewery. When you see, you know! After ten years of building, being challenged, and transforming in an industry of rapid change, I'm still motivated to break the bias and share our beers with the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

A couple of recognition awards - Telstra Business Women's Awards, EY Entrepreneur Award, and then joining a more prominent family with the sale of our business that we had long admired.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

Doing tasks that you're not necessarily educated in - i.e., financials and cash flow management, etc.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Be ready to be 110% committed; nothing comes easy if you don't ask; you don't get to stay true to yourself.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Back yourself and bring your friends and family along for the ride. You'll need them a lot!

Where can people find you?
