What's your business, and who are your customers?

Wizecare is a leading cloud telerehabilitation platform for at-home use. Our platform empowers physical therapists to build personalized video training programs for their patients and track their progress remotely. With Wizecare, healthcare providers are now able to deliver intelligent, accessible, and exciting physical therapy sessions directly to their patients’ homes, allowing organizations and insurers to provide measurable, affordable, and standardized quality of care. The data-driven solution optimizes physical therapy outcomes, leading to more efficient patient management and shorter recovery times.

Wizecare is helping large and small health systems reach patients of all backgrounds to get them the care they need, no matter where they are located. By offering remote physical therapy virtual sessions, people in rural and suburban areas, as well as major cities, can get the care they need.

Tell us about yourself

As a physical therapist for 20+ years, I have always tried to stay on the cutting edge and be knowledgeable of the changes occurring in the physical therapy profession. After building a private practice from the ground up into a multi-location practice with seven offices in the greater Baltimore area, I went through a merger acquisition. Before the M&A, I began to explore and learn more about telemedicine space and specifically telerehab, although, at the time, this area was still in the very early phases.

After a few years of exploring telemedicine and occasionally getting my feet wet in telerehab, I came across Wizecare. As a practicing clinician, I was extremely impressed with the technology and amazed how through AI learning, Wizecare was capturing information from patients without any wearables or sensors. This was the first time I had seen anything like this since, at the time, most telerehab companies in the PT space required wearables. This was a game-changer, and I knew from then on that I wanted to be part of their innovation and solution.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am the COO at Wizecare (not the owner), but as a previous owner, I attribute my success to surrounding myself with great clinicians and, more importantly, great people. At Wizecare, we have a very similar philosophy. It is a team approach as we lead the way in the remote physical therapy space.

One of our biggest successes at Wizecare is taking an Israeli-based company with a proven successful track record in Israel and bringing it to healthcare providers/systems in the United States.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Again, as a COO – one of the biggest challenges is always adapting in an always-evolving world. Telemedicine and technology are consistently changing, and there will always be things we need to learn about to make sure we stay ahead of the curve. Although Wizecare is already a leader in the remote physical therapy space, we continue to strive and enhance our platform so that healthcare providers and patients are getting the best possible experience and outcome from our platform.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Always be willing to adapt! We are in a continuously evolving field, medically and technologically.
  2. Listen to the customer and take feedback. Much of our success comes from their feedback.
  3. Work as a team – most needs require input from numerous team members! It’s a team effort.
