What's your business, and who are your customers?
With Time To Spare is a consulting business in organizing one's professional office and home. My clients would be anyone who has lots of clutter, needs more space, or feels like they don't have enough time.
Tell us about yourself
Upon graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1968, I went into full-time Christian work in Lexington, KY, counseling students/adults and managing a coffee house. I've taught in an ACE Christian School and then moved to the Washington, DC area to gain business experience. While working for the Navy Federal Credit Union, I created my seminar/coaching business, With Time To Spare, and now travel throughout the USA and Europe, offering my services to corporations, hospitals, associations, churches, and government agencies in developing strategies for organizing their work and life. Bringing order to people's environments is what motivates me each day, and I love what I do and have done since 1982.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Working with Fortune 500 companies in 46 states and overseas.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Marketing and promoting.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get an advisory board of 2-4 people who have a better understanding of business than you do.
- Walk your talk - manage your business so that you can faithfully service your clients.
- Keep your priorities straight- God, family, church, yourself, and then your business.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Organization can be a daunting task, but you don't have to do it alone. There are professional organizers all across the country who will assist you in organizing your home or your office, or your time. Just like you reach out for help with cleaning your home or changing the oil in your car, or calling a plumber when needed, hire an organizer. They are amazing people who love to assist people in bringing order to their environment.
