What's your business, and who are your customers?

Clarity is the only online diamond engagement ring retailer that bridges the best of online and offline shopping. We offer customers a free at-home preview through which they can see over 8,500 combinations of diamond engagement rings at home before buying. This is obligation free and free of charge. We are a venture-backed company that has partnered now with Renaissance Global.

We're rapidly growing and are creating not just diamond engagement rings and wedding bands but also ethically crafted lab diamond jewelry. Our aim is to become a lifetime jeweler for the modern-conscious couple and take the stress out of jewelry shopping.

Tell us about yourself

The most exciting part of being a startup and building a company is being able to challenge yourself to learn something new every day. With the constantly evolving marketing space and the need for a well-thought-out strategy to sell a luxury product, my position allows me to innovate in exciting ways every day. Learning from failures and successes helps propel me forward.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment is the large Rolodex of happy couples that we have amassed. We are always thrilled when we get positive feedback from a couple about how much the jewelry we crafted added special meaning to their day.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest aspects of being a business owner is prioritizing the projects that will lead to the most growth. It's easy to get pulled in a lot of different directions, many of which generate little output for the time involved. Learning to make quick decisions, gathering data, and experimenting are important.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. "Launch and learn. Don't be afraid to put your idea and product out there to gather feedback and innovate. Don't get stuck on an idea or process.
  2. Be open to evolving as you add team members with unique working styles and insights.
  3. This will help your business grow in more exciting ways.
