Creating Better Tomorrows - Wise Heart Coaching & Hypnosis

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Judith Auslander, Founder of Wise Heart Coaching & Hypnosis, located in Beaverton, OR, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Life Coach and Hypnotherapist. My clients are mostly people who are looking to end the pain of past trauma, habits, and the effects of anxiety, stress, and depression.

Tell us about yourself

It's funny! I knew I wanted to be a hypnotherapist when I was about 20, but it took until my 60's to finally follow through on my knowing inside that this was the work I was supposed to be doing. What motivates me is witnessing the changes my clients make in their life. Their joy and happiness, and contentment are elixirs to me. I feel like a Fairy Godmother who gets to perform magic each day by watching my clients change.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment for me is that I did it! I got out of the employee circle and followed my dreams of becoming a business owner. It took many years, but I did it.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The most difficult thing is, of course, no guaranteed check each week. Business ebbs and flows, and the biggest challenge is learning how to move gracefully through the changes in income.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have enough money in the reserve to support yourself for the first five years. These are the most difficult years for a new business.
  2. Ask and accept help from others. Don't try to do everything yourself. You will have to pay others to assist you in your business.
  3. Beware of "Poverty Thinking," as this will drag you down. It will cause you to take clients that you know deep down aren't the right client for you. It will also cause you to make shortcuts that end up costing more money.
  4. I am adding a 4th - Hire a mentor or coach.
