Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jamie Musacchio, Owner of Wisdom Warehouse, located in Dubai, UAE.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Wisdom Warehouse is an academic and creative hub for children located in both Dubai and Miami.

Tell us about yourself

I started my career as a teacher in New York City. I spent my time traveling and volunteering with children. My travels eventually led me to Dubai, where I moved as a teacher in an International school. One year in, I came up with the idea of Wisdom Warehouse. I wanted to give children a completely different learning experience and build a space that looked nothing like the normal children's facilities. A place where children felt safe to learn and create.

Wisdom Warehouse became a reality in a converted warehouse in the arts district of Dubai. It grew into an academic and creative hub for children. The second Wisdom Warehouse just opened in Miami! What motivates me each day is the children's response to the Wisdom Warehouse approach. They love coming to Wisdom Warehouse and learning the traditional subjects in a new and improved way!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been keeping the business alive and growing for 7 years. Opening our second branch has been a goal for a long time, and I look forward to opening many more!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I was a teacher, and learning how to lead a team, market, and brand a business was definitely a huge learning curve for me. I am still learning!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. One day, you think you're on top of the world, and the next, you feel like you're failing. This is a constant roller coaster, and you just need to keep going!
  2. Quality over quantity! Your clients are the best marketing tools you have. If they're happy, they will talk and bring you new business.
  3. Don't be afraid to have prices that are higher than average. Your clients are happy to pay for quality, and as long as they see the value, they will pay the prices you set because they want your service.
