Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Megan Wilson, Owner of Wilson Homestead, located in Stevensville, MT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I educate people on health, ancestral eating and preparation of foods, motherhood, homesteading, and more! I create YouTube videos, blog posts, Instagram content, and online courses with educational information. Our customers are usually young mothers and families who are wanting to learn more about parenthood, homemaking and nourishing their children.

Tell us about yourself

I am a young mother of three (a 1, 2, and 3-year-old!), and I originally started my business as a creative outlet for myself. Being at home all day with babies, I needed something to do that would allow me to be creative and learn. So I started my blog. Then I started making soaps and selling them online. And the business has expanded and rapidly grown from there! I am motivated each day by seeing how everything I've learned and shared helps people just like me! I love sharing about things I'm currently learning, growing in myself, and seeing how it helps other young mamas!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Reaching over 950k views on my YouTube videos!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding the time to create content as a stay-at-home mom with three young children. I am so blessed to be able to work from home and still be the one to raise my babies, but my days are definitely full!!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Firstly, just start! It's easy to want to have everything perfect before you post something, but procrastination and perfectionism can really stunt your business.

Secondly, be yourself. People are going to gravitate toward your authenticity. Don't pretend to be something you're not.

And lastly, be consistent. Consistency is key here. No matter what type of business you are running, getting content out for people to find will be important for you!
