Interested in starting your entrepreneurial journey in personal development, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Darlene Tindall, founder of Awe & Wonder Coach from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Tell us all about your business...

I'm a multi-modality Teacher, Coach, and Consultant. Primarily I work with burned-out Men who want to work less, play more, and make a more significant impact. I also teach Yoga and Meditation, Practice Energy Medicine, and Run Retreats. I've got more than 20yrs in the field of Personal Development, have designed and run numerous workshops and training.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

My business has been growing on and off for many years. I've had a lifelong desire to inspire, empower and equip people to live their best life. The more I do this work, the more I fall in love with it. Every day is a day for a life to be transformed, so I keep showing up and finding more ways to guide that process.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It's the network of teachers, healers, coaches, and practitioners I've taught or worked with along the way. We continue to learn to support one another and grow our collective ability to support our community members. Each life that is positively impacted has a ripple effect, and that requires a team effort, a collection of shining stars, not just one.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

The continual investment and learning curve are intense a lot of the time. Accepting that as part of the process is key to moving forward. Many hours of behind-the-scenes learning, frustration, trial, and error had to occur for every hour with a client.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

Start now, don't wait. Ask lots of questions from those that are already doing it. Keep working at it until you figure it out.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Not everyone in business knows what they're doing, but they're doing it anyway. Don't expect they've figured out the secret and know more than you.
