What's your business, and who are your customers?
Naturopathic Doctor & Homeopath "Wholehearted Healing for the Whole Family." My patients are anyone looking to get down to the bottom of their health issues and address the cause of their health condition versus only treating the symptoms.
Tell us about yourself
I became interested in homeopathy approximately 38 years ago while working with a midwife to deliver my first child at home. She directed me to Mary McFarland in Whitefish, Montana, to learn more about homeopathy. I became a lay Homeopath for a few years until I seriously considered making a career out of my love for homeopathy. So, I went to the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, as they had a comprehensive program for those interested in homeopathy. After practicing for eight years in Portland, Oregon, we moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where I have been practicing for 14 years. I am motivated every day by helping to change the outcome of individuals' healthy course of living.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping a teenager change their unhealthy behaviors is the most rewarding for me because you change the whole course of their life in a healthier way.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Getting patients to follow up on their program.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Research the field you want to go into and make sure it will pay to go into massive debt with the education needed.
- You need to invest your time, energy, and money to make your business grow into a successful business.
- Network, network, network!!!
