What's your business, and who are your customers?
I operate a Counselling Service where I am a Social Worker and Psychotherapist. My customers are adults from 18 to about 50 years old who have challenges with mood.
Tell us about yourself
I am a 35-year-old man that was initially drawn to the field to help youth with mental health problems because I never found growing up that mental health was given the same attention as physical health.
What motivates me each day is to see the progress that my clients make and to allow them to feel heard in their life challenges.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making a move from a part-time practice to a full-time practice in 2019.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The back-end work such as accounting, marketing, and administrative work.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay organized with your notes.
- Follow a business plan but have some flexibility.
- Keep your purpose in mind every day.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I am accepting new clients, and I am passionate about providing a unique counseling experience that is personable and organized so that clients can set measurable goals and see the trajectory to achieving them.
