What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Registered Dietitian and Integrative Health Coach. I provide personalized 1:1 wellness coaching and workplace wellness talks to high-achieving individuals eager to gain control of their health habits and nutrition.

Tell us about yourself

I was fortunate to grow up in a household where healthy eating and an active lifestyle were prioritized. My parents had an amazing garden in my backyard; from it, my mom prepared nutrient-dense, homemade meals almost every day of my childhood. When other kids were eating pizza and nachos at school, I was eating (what my friends would call) ‘birdseed bread’ with hummus, organic sliced veggies, and granola. Though I was envious of my friends’ food at the time, as I grew up, I realized how important nutrition and clean eating were to every aspect of my life. This passion has driven my desire to support individuals and team offices to achieve the health, nutrition, and lifestyle habits that allow them to feel most alive. Aside from my husband and baby, nothing brings me more joy than being in a session with a client when they have a big breakthrough moment or when they come on the call and can't stop sharing all the amazing choices they've made and how good they feel. It completely lights me up. To be a part of someone's health transformation, where they get to say: 'I know I'll never have to diet ever again', or 'I feel the best I've ever felt, and I'm confident I can sustain these changes'. It's such a gift for me!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have six+ years of academic and clinical training to be a Dietitian/Health coach, so everything clicks when I'm with an audience or a client. However learning the business side of things: marketing, branding, advertising, etc., felt much more challenging. I'm always learning and wanting to better myself and my business, so I'm proud of not letting these facets become hurdles for me.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Standing out on social media and also wearing so many hats every day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. There are so many resources (many of which are free!) to help you launch and grow your business. So first, understanding your audience and product/service is key - then finding the tools you need to grow becomes a lot easier.
  2. If you're passionate and good at what you do, having the mentality that your business growth is a marathon and less of a sprint helps you navigate the highs and lows that come with it all.
  3. If you care about what you do and stay consistent at seeing it come to fruition, you'll be success.
