What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Registered Dietitian with a virtual practice and the founder of Weeknight Dinners, a plant-based meal plan program that's inspired by the Mediterranean diet. It utilizes a batch cooking model, allowing users to prepare meals in less than 10 minutes when they're pressed for time. My customers are generally independent, busy women who are cooking and eating for one.

Tell us about yourself

I genuinely love food and am fortunate enough to be very comfortable in the kitchen. My private practice and my meal plan program allow me to combine my nutrition knowledge, passion for food, and culinary skills. Helping others improve their relationship with food and building a community around food is what motivates me each day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a product and service that truly helps people while following my passion and honoring my purpose.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Accountability. Adhering to deadlines you've set can be a challenge. Make the promise to yourself and keep it. You won't progress if you don't.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Outsource what you can when you can.
  2. Get an MVP to market and collect feedback ASAP.
  3. Action is the antidote to overwhelm.
