Tell us about yourself

Hi, I am Gregory Forde. I'm a software developer and web designer from Montreal who is driven by a desire to help businesses grow in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. I started my own business as a direct result of the pandemic and its impact on the economy. With a strong background in software development and web design, I am well-equipped to help businesses establish a strong online presence and navigate the challenges of the pandemic era. My passion for technology and dedication to my clients make me a valuable asset to any business looking to adapt and thrive in the digital age.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is creating a website called CommunityofGuardians.com. It's a social learning platform centered around the achievement of the 2030 U.N. sustainable development goals.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is balancing the responsibilities and making difficult decisions that will affect the company's direction and future success while also dealing with financial uncertainty and potential failure. It can also be challenging to manage and motivate employees, as well as to stay informed about the industry and market trends. Additionally, maintaining a work-life balance can be difficult, as the responsibilities of owning a business often require a significant time and energy commitment.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Clearly define your target market and customer: Understand the needs and pain points of your target customers and create a product or service that addresses them. This will make it easier to create a marketing and sales strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
  2. Develop a solid business plan: A business plan is a roadmap for your company's growth and success. It should include information on your products or services, target market, competition, financial projections, and marketing and sales strategies. Having a solid business plan in place will help you secure funding and stay on track as you grow your business.
  3. Keep an eye on your finances: Closely monitoring and managing your financials is crucial for the success of your business. It will allow you to identify and address issues quickly and make informed decisions about the future of your business. Make sure you have a good accounting system in place and set up regular meetings to review your financials and set budget goals.
