Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Bhumi Bhutani, Co-Founder of Way.com, located in Fremont, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Way.com, a car super app. We can help you save up to $3,000 a year on all car services, including EV charging, fuel, parking, car wash, car insurance, auto refinance, and roadside assistance. Our mission is to make owning a car more affordable. You should support us because in addition to helping you save on avg. 15% per year, we are reducing carbon emissions and have a sustainability objective. By helping consumers secure a parking spot faster, we reduce carbon emissions, as the avg vehicle releases 5 tonnes of Co2 per year! We are also building the consolidated EV network for search and transaction through an application to support the EV infrastructure growth.

Tell us about yourself

I am a passionate, intuitive, and data-driven entrepreneur who wants to help consumers reduce expenses wherever possible. I believe Way.com has been able to do that in the auto-tech space effectively, and I want to share this with others who are looking to reduce their costs.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a great product with great partners and a phenomenally talented team. At Way.com, we want the brightest, and I’m so happy to see that they are all equally passionate about what we are working on.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You have the highs and lows simultaneously, they come together, but you learn to adjust. As a business owner, it’s challenging to pause to celebrate as often as you should because you are excited about working on enhancing your product. You constantly see improvements that can improve your product, but sometimes you need to sit, reflect and celebrate along the way.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Prepare, assess the local market, and ensure your value proposition and business model resonate with the local market where you intend to start. Then, plan and validate at a small scale so that you do not have unanticipated consequences that limit you from growth.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

When hiring, ensure you recruit those who understand building a company is a journey. Share the vision with them early and continuously so they are always engaged and excited to be part of the growth. This motivating and inclusive attitude will help you retain great talent as you build your product.
