Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Wasim Hajjiri, CEO of Wasim The Dream LLC, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is career coaching; we help IT, and Tech professionals land their dream jobs.

Tell us about yourself

I moved from Jordan to the US in 2013 and started a new life. Due to my experience of struggling to land a job, I learned a lot of things that helped me, and I wanted to pass it on to other job seekers and help them throughout the process. My father always inspired me; he passed away. Now I feel that he passed on the torch for me to build a legacy and positively impact the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We hit 10 million dollars in salaries landed for our clients and helped better their lives with fulfilling jobs.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The many ups and downs that come along the journey. Losses, failure, and doubt come in the mix as well. Business is a spiritual and emotional game; you won't last long term if you can't control your emotions.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get mentors/coaches and learn from the best in the field.
  2. Develop daily mental and physical habits to help deal with all the ups and downs.
  3. Build a team in the early stages.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

When building a business, don't focus on what you think the customer wants; build your products/services based on that. Talk to your customers first, determine their needs based on their perspectives, and then build your services/products based on their pain points.
