Tell us about yourself

A love for art is woven into my DNA. My grandmother was an art teacher, and my mother has intertwined art into every phase of her life. It's only natural that I followed suit.

Many pivots, crossroads, twists and turns, and back-to-the-drawing board moments led me to my passion for photography. But it didn't stop there: during my studies in physical therapy, I began to notice the storytelling powers of movement, both organic and intentional. It wasn't long before I fell in love with film and the idea of creating living, breathing art.

Although I loved working as a women's health physical therapist, I found that I needed to take a hiatus from healthcare and enter a creative profession in which I truly felt valued.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been getting my business up and running during the pandemic and doing this as a single mama.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I find the concept of work/life boundaries to be a tough one. When you are so extremely passionate about what you do, it doesn't feel like work. And because it doesn't feel like work, it's very easy to let it creep into your personal/home life.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find out if there are a need/demand for whatever service and/or products you plan to create a business around.
  2. Create a business plan so that all of your business decisions can be intentional from day one.
  3. Invest in the professional brand and web design.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
