Tell us about yourself

My name is Luchelle Ward, and I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica! I'm 34 yrs of age, and I work in the Healthcare field as a Physical Therapist Assistant alongside running my business! A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and I gained a lot of weight from chemotherapy; I decided that I needed to do something about it! I got started working on my business in 2019 when I became serious about my health and wellness. I was able to lose 55lbs using my Herbalife products and to be on a Nutrition plan; I then decided to do the business online because people started seeing my results and asked what I was doing to drop the weight and look great. In 2020 in the middle of the Pandemic, I decided to open a storefront to serve the community with health and wellness!

What motivates me each day to do what I do is the smiles, appreciation, and weight loss journey of my customers! I love helping people to get their desired results!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is actually being a business owner, lol. Owning my first of many LLC businesses! The fact that I said I wanted to own my own business, and I actually did it! Big accomplishment for me!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is knowing that business is never predictable; the idea of dealing with the unknowns is scary at times! Every day will be different; there will be challenges and obstacles to deal with no matter how well prepared you are! You will have to be Jack/Jill of all trades, the boss, the receptionist, the janitor, etc.! You have to do it all if you want to have a successful and thriving business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just Do it! Do it even if you are scared or uncomfortable! You have to be uncomfortable to become comfortable! Do it scared!
  2. Figure out what works for you and go with it. Be your best self at all times! Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what it will be! -Sonia Ricotti
  3. Promote Promote Promote your business! Be Consistent! Ask for help! Show up no matter what! Learn to adapt and be personally developed! Remember your WHY daily; why am I doing this business? And NEVER NEVER QUIT or GIVE UP ON YOURSELF! Make sure that you represent your product very well and be the energy behind it! Energy goes where energy flows!
