Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nathan Stratton, Founder of Vocinity, Inc., located in Martinsburg, WV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Vocinity provides white-label voice/video conversational AI bots for businesses in the retail and healthcare verticals.

Tell us about yourself

I dropped out of high school to start my first company, a nationwide internet service provider. Over the last 25+ years, I have founded 5 companies with 3 successful exits. I sold my last company to BroadSoft in 2013 and served as their VP of Technology for 4 years until the Cisco acquisition when I felt the freedom to leave and start Vocinity, my latest startup. The challenges of startups are what motivates me each day, along with the desire to change the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I love to work with people who have no or little experience in the tech world and work with them to become leaders in their technology field.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Death of a vision, knowing when to give up on a dream.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Talk to others who have done it, don't be afraid to fail, and pivot if needed.
