What's your business, and who are your customers?
Vocalytics is an audio-based, Techstars-backed sound intelligence platform helping caregivers respond to the most critical and disruptive events in real-time, improving restful sleep, recovery times, outcomes, satisfaction, and revenue. We're Google Analytics for sound in physical world spaces. We don't just monitor how noisy a space is, we classify more than 500 ambient sounds to help caregivers better respond to the root cause of the problem.
Tell us about yourself
With an extensive background in successfully bringing deep tech startups to market & scaling them, my little sister has suffered from a chronic illness for more than 20 years. I've personally spent a lot of time in hospital rooms, and she's spent even more. Hospital rooms are noisy spaces, and if we can help caregivers provide a more restful environment, we can improve her recovery and countless others' outcomes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Founding a deep tech startup four months before COVID hit the world and being recognized as a leader in the industry consecutively in years since.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Perseverance in the bleakest moments.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
If you aren't willing to give it all to the last ounce of energy, second of the day, or cent in the bank, you shouldn't be an entrepreneur. Also, solve for your customers, not yourself.
