What's your business, and who are your customers?

VMAC Marketing is a business that specializes in providing marketing services to life coaches. The target audience for these services would be life coaches, who help individuals improve their personal and professional lives by setting and achieving goals, addressing challenges, and developing skills and strategies for success.

Tell us about yourself

I realized life coaches lacked the resources and expertise to grow their businesses. So, I quit my corporate job and started VMAC, a digital marketing agency that offers life coaches access to the resources and expertise they need to grow their businesses. I am passionate about helping life coaches succeed and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. As a Certified Business Consultant, Digital Marketer, and Social Media Strategist with years of experience in corporate, regional operations, and marketing, I am dedicated to helping life-coaching businesses reach their goals. I care about helping life coaches grow and succeed.

Raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I was determined to find a way to help people and make my mark. So, when I was offered a job with a corporate giant in Florida, I quickly rose through the ranks and found myself in charge of regional operations and marketing. But as I got to know more small business owners, I realized they didn't have access to the same resources, industry expertise, or technology as the corporate giant. And then it hit me: I could help them! So, I quit my job and started VMAC. I always knew I wanted to make a difference in the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment would have to be my company's successful growth and expansion. Over the years, I have been able to build a strong team and establish a solid customer base, which has allowed me to expand my business into new markets and diversify my product/service offerings. Additionally, I'm proud of the fact that I was able to, whether through challenging situations, such as economic downturns or industry-wide changes, came out even stronger. Another accomplishment I am proud of is the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and the fact that we have a high rate of repeat business and customer referrals. Overall, I consider my biggest accomplishment as a business owner to be my company's overall success and longevity and its positive impact on my team, customers, and community.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is the constant need to adapt and evolve. As market trends and consumer preferences change, business owners must be able to pivot and adjust their strategies to stay competitive. This can be challenging as it requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and research. And sometimes, it can be difficult to know when to let go of certain aspects.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your research: Before starting a business, it's essential to research your industry, target market, and competition thoroughly. Having a clear understanding of the market and what your customers need will help you make better decisions and give you a solid foundation to build.
  2. Be prepared to adapt: The business landscape is constantly changing, and you need to be prepared to adapt and evolve your strategies as market trends and consumer preferences change. Be open to new ideas and new ways of doing things, and be ready to pivot if needed.
  3. Focus on building a strong team: A business is only as strong as the team behind it. So it's important to take the time to find the right people, create a positive work environment and cultivate a strong company culture. Building a team that can work together to achieve common goals and bring diverse ideas and perspectives to the table is important.
