What's your business, and who are your customers?

Vix Media Group is a premiere marketing agency committed to helping their clients grow using an omnichannel approach through various services such as SEO, Content Marketing, Branding, Website Design, Growth Hacking, and Ads.

Tell us about yourself

I first started my career in High School, growing and monetizing Twitter accounts. Shortly after graduating, I was recruited by a large agency in California, where I managed hundreds of a-list celebrity social media accounts. After a couple of years there, I moved into the Fintech space and the Cannabis space and finally started Vix Media Group with my partner Anthony in 2019.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Pre Vix: Being hired by Don Mischer Productions to help digitally produce the 2016 Emmy awards, where I worked directly with Twitter and raised Emmy's social engagements by 50 Million from the previous year.

Post Vix: Getting my clients to rank within the top 5 results for their desired keywords, such as "Personal Injury Los Angeles."

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Getting started in such a competitive environment. We were just a small agency that was competing against companies that had been marketing longer than we had been alive. Proving that our methods worked was easy but convincing clients to go with us in the first year took a lot of relentless determination.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Build a small team of people you can trust with your life and focus on taking care of them vs. just making money for yourself.
  2. Put the client's best interest/success over your profits. It's better to keep the client happy and retain them for years to come versus trying to maximize your income from the start.
  3. Don't give up. Sounds cliché, yes, but failing and getting rejected by tons of leads is just part of the process. You'll find your groove if you stick with it long enough and always work on bettering your practices.
