Health Coaching and Holistic Nutrition - Viviane Cooper

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Viviane Cooper, Founder of Viviane Cooper, Health Coaching and Holistic Nutrition, located in Knoxville, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My Health Coaching and Holistic Nutrition business were born out of a necessity for transformation. A transformation of the old self: old eating habits, old patterns, old lifestyle. A need to change for the better. After witnessing the transformation of my health simply by changing my diet and lifestyle, I wanted to teach others that there is a more vibrant and harmonious way of living, and it just takes a little bit of motivation to change.

My clients come to me out of an inner call of wanting to feel better about themselves. They come from all walks of life. Some have been affected by chronic disease and want a more natural approach to healing. Others want to lose weight. Some are college students pressed for time and struggling with how to eat healthy within a busy schedule. Some are elderly people looking to improve their health to stay more active. Others are moms wanting to know how their children could be eating better. The food we eat, our lifestyle, and our mental state have a profound impact on our health. I empower my clients to make positive changes through the use of good nutrition, movement, and stress management tools. I am also a Bach Flower practitioner. Bach Flower Therapy has been used for a long time to treat emotional imbalances. It's a safe, gentle, and effective natural treatment for anyone that wants to experience a more balanced mental state.

Tell us about yourself

I've always loved the health field but always found myself working in corporate environments. Although I liked what I did, it was not my career of choice. At some point in my life, I started having health issues that the doctors didn't have any answers for. Intuitively I knew I had to change my eating habits and lifestyle in order to feel better. After doing a lot of research on nutrition and putting the things I had learned into practice, my health improved. Then I thought I could work helping others and got my first certification as a Health Coach. I knew then that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others improve their health and quality of life.

Dealing with an illness can be difficult when doctors are unable to provide you with answers. Through my studies, I realized that the answers lie in everyday choices, and treatments can start with the food we eat. I wanted to deepen my knowledge and receive a certification as a Holistic Nutritionist. My motivation to work in this field is to see others realize they have the power to change their life circumstances, and I am absolutely passionate about being a part of their journeys in the search for health and wellbeing.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment was to help someone who had fibromyalgia and didn't believe she could get better by changing her diet. After a doctor's visit where she found out her cholesterol was pretty high, she decided to give it a try. Now she has her life back and could get her chronic condition into remission. To own a business that has this profound effect on people's lives is very rewarding.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the greatest obstacles in this field is to get people to believe they can relieve their symptoms with changes in diet and lifestyle, but I can see that this is changing, and people are more open, especially because of the internet. There are so many people sharing their experiences, and this is a very positive thing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Anyone who is starting a business should have a clear vision of their niche and invest some of their time in marketing so people can know about the work they do and their approach, especially through social media. Last but not least, be persistent and don't give up. Sometimes it takes time for people to understand your work and start recommending you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I think there's a place for everyone. Each business is unique, and you should make it as unique as it can be. Even if there are others out there in the same field, people will come to you because they resonate with your style and values.
