What's your business, and who are your customers?
VisioneerIT is a RevOps Firm focusing on strategic growth in the areas of Technology, Security, and Marketing for Enterprise level organizations. Our services include Reputation Management, Web/Software Development, Managed Security Solutions, Digital Security, and Social Media Marketing. Our key differentiator is our approach to combining our customer's corporate branding vision with our 25 years of Digital Security expertise to ensure the security of their online reputation. We also help organizations leverage innovative new channels for customer engagement, product promotion, and viral marketing across the digital landscape. Our customers are in the Government contracting space, Attorneys, MSP, and Healthcare.
Tell us about yourself
I am the CEO of VisioneerIT, a firm specializing in Technology, Marketing, and Digital Security. With 25 years in the technology industry, I built VisioneerIT with the goal of expanding client brand awareness while drastically optimizing business efficiencies and reducing risks. I currently serve as an Executive Board member of the Disability Law Center of Virginia and Co-Chair of the NGLCC Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Inclusion Taskforce, as well as an Executive Board Member for the Sam & Devorah Foundation for Trans Youth.
I have been a mentor for the American Marketing Association and served as Vice President for the African American Marketing Association. I attended George Mason University for my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Capital College for my Master's of Network Security, Nova Southeastern for my Ph.D. in Computer Science, and Oakbrook College of Law for law school. I am a passionate advocate for the Transgender Community, Jews of Color, and those with Disabilities. What motivates me the most is knowing that one day I will be able to pass down my business to my children and grandchildren.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest Accomplishment as a business owner was growing from a one-man shop working part-time to having 15 employees.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is finding the best talent that has clear domain expertise and who also aligns with the corporate culture.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Hire specialists and pay them 20% above the market rate.
- Ensure that advertising and marketing have a line item in your budget.
- Tech should always be your first hire.
