Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in education but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Violet Giannone, Founder and Owner of Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting, located in Berlin, CT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are an online school providing education and certification. Our main course is the sleep consultant certification course, but we also offer courses on other sleep and parenting topics.

Tell us about yourself

I am a registered nurse and a sleep consultant. After seeing so much misinformation and a lack of proper training and education on pediatric sleep, I decided to open the Institute.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Training over 700 students as of today's date, and the enrollment is growing daily.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hours are long, and you never really stop working, but as long as you love your job, it doesn't feel like work most of the time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You can do anything you set your mind to. There is nothing you can't do!
  2. Work hard like someone is taking it away from you EVERY DAY.
  3. Don't look at your competition; they don't have the same goals and dreams as you. They are not you.
