What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a hair salon in Old Town Scottsdale. We specialize in bridal hair and makeup, hair extensions, haircuts, and colors.
Tell us about yourself
I got into the beauty industry because I love the creative side of it. I get to make people look good and give them a chance to have a makeover. My motivation comes from my passion for helping women to enhance their looks by changing their appearance— from the outside to feel more confident inside.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I led a team to win Hair Wars in 2015 and 2016. I also coached and sponsored Miss Az 2015. I did cover photos for Arizona Weddings (3 times), Phoenix Bride and Groom, and Finest Weddings.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I have to deal with constant turnover and fixing work from newer/inexperienced stylists. Also, dealing with mean, ruthless- unsatisfied clients.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always be on top of your game.
- Never let people take you down.
- Don't say no to opportunities.
