What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have over 25 years of nutrition experience & have many awards in Nutrition. Weight loss, muscle gains, and optimizing hormones and health through customized eating are my specialty. I deliver a very personalized, one-on-one service that addresses you as an individual. No group meetings, just personalized support with me, a registered clinical nutritionist. I work with you in detailed sessions via video conferencing (email programs also available) as part of a 3 or 6-month program, and I have a genuine concern for your success. We fit my carefully tailored Nutrition and Weight Loss eating plans into your lifestyle with comprehensive support in four main areas - hormonal, behavioral, structured and balanced eating plan, and exercise.

We will use your food preferences to design an eating program together in real-time. There may be a few food swaps out and replacements, but it will always be the foods you like and thus can sustain a lifestyle approach. I do not use shakes and only use supplements if completely necessary to aid hormonal balance and organ optimization. My plans are individualized and suited to the family structure, travel, and dining out. You will be able to be flexible with your plan and obtain lasting change.

The key is the balance between protein, carbs, and fat, and you will enjoy this combination of macro-nutrients. I always receive feedback on how clients love this way of eating and see results within three days.

I take a multifaceted approach that considers hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, metabolic issues, stress, social influences, allergies, environmental factors, heavy metal toxicity, meal timing, and individual lifestyles. Weight loss nutrition consulting is my passion. I have worked in this arena for most of my practicing life. My usual patients are either men or women wanting to lose body fat, balance hormones, and build muscle. I particularly love working with the 30-55-year-old bracket. A lot are already eating a healthy range of foods but do not have the correct balance of proteins, carbs, and fats. Sometimes it is as simple as a tweak in this balance that can cause a cascade of fat loss and massive, swift improvements in well-being, sleep, energy, hormonal balance, stress adaption, bowels, mood, and more.

Some exercise until they are blue in the face and do not achieve weight or fat loss. I explain to them that 80% of weight loss is through diet and the importance of the correct and unique balance of macronutrients for their specific biochemistry and genetics. Tell us about yourself

I was always interested in nutrition when I was in high school and was a competitive swimmer. When I left school and started nutrition, I became very interested in weight loss because when I finished up swim training, I gained weight and wanted to get it off healthily and for good with no yo-yoing. I am also hypoglycemic and so a diet that suited this was paramount. I researched and compiled all the best science to create the highly successful eating plans I have today. My business started booming, and I attracted clients from around the globe. I am truly blessed and thankful for my path.

I was inspired to start my own business as I did not see what I wanted to offer in the marketplace. There were no weight loss programs or clinics that offered a holistic and hormonal approach to weight loss and nutrition. Sure, some said they did. But when it came down to it, that was not true. Holistic to me means body, mind, and soul. Because weight is so affected by stress levels, emotions and beliefs, I felt it was imperative to address these along with the physical aspects of nutrition and diet. I wanted to create a solution that promoted a positive and empowering lasting change. I am very passionate about my work to nurture patients with a results-driven approach to correct food balance and address emotional issues and blocks.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Owning and running a highly successful multi-practitioner bustling clinic. Mentoring the staff and then selling that clinic to create the life and work balance I want. I was also interviewed for TV and won many awards for my high-level services.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Running the business and marketing. I love service delivery and working 1:1 with patients, which balances it out. Over the years, I have become savvier with the admin side of things. I used to know a clinic where I had staff doing that for me. But I'm happy to do it all myself these days.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Before you start, remember it's not just about service delivery. Running your own business takes more hours than working for someone else but does give freedom. It's very hard when you start as you need to work constantly, but when you get to a good place, you can create boundaries and the life you desire.
