Floristry Design and Online Retail & Events. Our aim is always to offer a luxurious and reliable gifting service which creates everlasting memories full of extraordinary blooms.
Tell us about yourself
Balham resident, Canadian-born Ronny Colbie started his floristry career working his way up as an events florist for a leading design studio in Downtown Toronto at the age of seventeen. Here, he learned the inner workings of the trade and developed his passion for all things floral. After making the big move across the pond in 2012, Ronny worked as the Lead Floral Designer for the Soho House Group, creating stunning floral displays for the hotel, as well as unforgettable wedding and event flowers at Babington House in Somerset and Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire. During this time, Ronny refined his timeless and traditional style with a chic and understated aesthetic. He also worked alongside the team at Cowshed, which deepened his appreciation for fragrance.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing our creations come to life and enjoyed by our customers. Working with clients that support our business and passions. Being my own boss and encouraging my team to push for their dreams.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Bills and maintaining overheads. Rest comes easy!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Start small, do one thing well, and focus on that. Always aim high, keep your passion alive and never give up. If you believe in your business and your numbers add up, keep it going one small step at a time. Remember, as your own boss; you control your own pace, so do not feel pressured by others on the outside look in. Nobody will own your business as you will, so believe what your head and heart tell you and run with it.
