What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hi! My name is Cassandra, and I am the owner and founder of Universal Healings. My clients are a range of individuals around the globe looking to support their health through subtle body energy and aromatherapy, merging the mental, emotional and physical body into harmonious balance.

Tell us about yourself

I am an energy enthusiast, author, Reiki Master teacher with spiritual and hospital experience. Practitioner of Access Consciousness, and certified Aromatherapist specializing in the Traditional Hindu Chakra System. Before the years Universal Healings was created in 2016, I was at a crossroads in my mental health and environment. Until I found Reiki in 2012, I was able to achieve growth for the first time in a language that made sense to me – Energy.

After the discovery and benefits Reiki proved to me day in, and day out, I knew this could no longer be kept a secret. So, in 2016 I took the leap of faith to create Universal Healings. At that point, I wanted to start giving my back to my community members, letting them know that anything is possible with proper accountability, education, and belief in self with excitement towards life. Anything.

My slogan for Universal Healings is, “Come Unlock Your Body's Natural Energy.” A motto that rings true not only to the business but also to my personal life as well. Integrating all my energy work techniques and Aromatherapy specialty allows people to ignite their inner flame with a release of serotonin while balancing out the parasympathetic and Sympathetic nervous systems. Each day, I stay motivated by knowing that the change I wish to see in the world is abundantly within my reach, and I get to help one person, one session at a time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Through the years, each day has been an accomplishment just by showing up, but if I could pinpoint one thing, it would be my 8-Week Chakra Balancing Course. This was years of my life's work and my partner in crime (husband), Brandon. This course has over 100 interactive videos, master classes, daily inspiration, aromatherapy recipes, accountability, and so much more! Not to mention the 7 Interactive Chakra Journals I wrote as my husband designed that are sold on Amazon. Those books are the course manuals for 7 out of the 8 weeks.

This course and these journals are literally changing the world, even people I have never met, but they get to meet me through my personality and my lens of everything I create and give my heart and soul to. My goal was to categorize life into meaningful categories by giving people or practitioners the tools for when life shows up. Because let's face it, when life shows up, it shows up hard.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing I could honestly say for me was time management. Ideas never stop flowing about how to make things better, bolder, and more user-friendly. I am my top client, so I know how and what clients are looking for. There was always pressure around me, people distracting me of my goals and dreams, people telling me what something should look like… but it was until I truly stepped into my personal power I began to thrive, and the universe threw me on a fast train of prosperity in every direction I didn't even know existed. There are no courses out there to teach you how to be you, but once you find it, oh man, you know. It feels and smells like your favorite dessert fresh out of an oven.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find your passion and stick with it. Think of your passion like a tree. Never lose sight of that original passion. Grow and expand from there, with each branch and leaf on the tree being a new way you can expand that initial passion for helping your community. For example: If you take my journey, Reiki is my foundation, the tree's trunk. My specialty in the Traditional Hindu Chakra System is a branch, and from the branch comes the leaves of the Interactive Chakra Journals and 8-Week Chakra Balancing Course.
  2. Let people know what makes you stand out from the rest. Be your top customer and place yourself in someone else's shoes. Imagine yourself walking past your booth while vending at a fair. What would you want to see? What WOW factor would draw you in to get people to look or at least stop by? If you have a question, chances are someone else has that question. So, be the one to find that answer first.
  3. Never stop working on yourself. The more you work on yourself, the deeper you can go with your business (or be mentally prepared for when life shows up). Try various self-care activities, change your routine when things get boring or stagnant and keep allowing yourself to grow, network, and feel proud of each accomplishment you set out to do. Celebrate each win because your journey is a marathon.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Honestly, If I could share one more thing, it would be this: Even if you think you don't have time, take the time to write out your 6–12-month Lean Business Plan. This way, it will help keep you on track. Sometimes, being an entrepreneur can be challenging, especially if you are slow and don't have clients for a period of time. Your mind wanders if you should be doing something else, going for a different job, etc. The reality is, even if you are slow in business, continue to strive to give and add value to everything you do, and the money will come. Guaranteed.
