Tell us about yourself

I was very passionate about martial arts when I was in my 20s, and becoming a personal trainer seemed like a good career. Seventeen years later, I'm now driven by success. I love developing my business with my two business partners Yani who is my brother, and Chris, who is our digital marketing manager. I don't like being away from work, as it's so exciting now that we are 100% online. I get up at 5 am to exercise, and I can't wait to start my day. It's so exciting seeing our new members sign ups overnight as our biggest market is in the USA, so I always get a lot of communication and new members overnight. I spend most of my day creating content and strategizing growth; it's very exciting.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Selling our gym in 2021 post-COVID and moving to a 100% online business, doubling our members in the first year.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Switching off, I struggle to leave work behind when I spend time with my wife and son.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Commit to the long run without any expectation of return in any set time period. I've been at this for 17 years and am only just starting to see the success I always dreamed of.
  2. However much work you think will be involved, it will be 10x more ... be prepared for that. If you're not willing to give up almost everything else you enjoy, I doubt you will get very far.
  3. Ensure your spouse is on board with the above two points. If they aren't, either your relationship will fail or your business will fail.
