What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a recording artist who tours, has had songs on the radio, tv, etc., and I also own a major label services company titled "Artist Formula" while also owning an award-winning bourbon label "Homegrown" Boone's Bourbon & now "Homegrown" Boone's Beer. I also co-own two music festivals :)
Tell us about yourself
I started businesses as I couldn't land a job anywhere. I was living in Nashville trying to "make it," and each time I would go apply for a job, I would always be denied as I was a "musician," and no one wanted to hire someone who was going to quit eventually. It's now turned into a beautiful thing, and I couldn't be more grateful for it. I'm motivated every morning I wake up as there is always something new to do with any of the businesses.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To name a few, I have over 12 million streams as an indie artist, my "Boone's Bourbon" has won some of the largest awards in the world, such as "Double Gold San Francisco," & Artist Formula has worked with the likes of Capitol Records.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Letting others know to value your time. There is never enough time in the day to finish everything, and when someone doesn't value how busy you are, those are people you need to distance yourself from. It's not good for business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Take a risk, bet on yourself, and you can only rely on yourself to get the job done.

Every independent musician should inspire to be an entrepreneur.
