Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in arts and crafts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jessica Vadori, Founder of Twin Creations Windsor, located in Windsor, ON, CA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Twin Creations Windsor is a small and upcoming business! We specialize in candles, soaps, chapsticks, and macrame. Recently we have taken on a new craft, and we’ve decided to learn how to craft with resin.

Tell us about yourself

TCW was created after my sister started her own business. She took a break from her business when the pandemic hit. When things calmed down, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to come off of her vacation with her own business, and we decided to open a new business. What keeps me motivated? I love to work. I put 10 hours in a day at my full-time job and then turn around and put another 6-8 hours in with TCW.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As business owners, our biggest accomplishment so far is getting our name out and watching our market grow.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is satisfying everyone and making suitable products for everyone.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don’t give up.
  2. Advertise! Get your name out there.
  3. Business cards are essential! Not everyone wants to carry their phone to scan a QR code (believe me, we made the switch).
