Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in clothing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with De Andre H., founder of True Faith University, located in Dallas, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I created a faith-based apparel company for people who are proud and want to show off their love of God or their faith. I feel sometimes we tend to dim our light when it comes to that area of our life when in reality, we should let it Shine brighter than every other area of our lives.

Tell us about yourself

There are two things about me. I love God, and I love fashion. I've always been inspired to become an entrepreneur, and this seemed like the best way to bring my dream to light and to promote a positive message to hopefully inspire some people and change a few lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say bringing recognition to God. It's not about me, so if I can help start conversations that continue to highlight the good that God has done or even spark someone's interest in learning more about God, then I am more than satisfied.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Definitely the startup cost and building brand recognition. I wanted to give people the best quality and most value on the market that they could find. I came out the gate with the mindset of creating a hoodie that feels better than anything anyone has in their closet today, regardless of the price. Because of that, I had to spend a lot researching and creating the best product, and now it's all about building awareness and getting people to see the brand.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would say to start, pray about it. I would not have been able to get close to where I am with starting and running a business without a lot of prayer and guidance.

Two, to know your "why". It's going to motivate you to keep pushing forward on the days when you feel like giving up.

And lastly, to be consistent. Growth happens over time, and you'll be amazed at how far you can travel by taking it one step at a time.
