What's your business, and who are your customers?
The Trauma Resolution Center is a non-profit mental health agency that provides trauma-informed care. TRC provides holistic services to victims of trauma.
Tell us about yourself
Having worked at Trauma Resolution Center for over eleven years, it is an honor to serve as the Executive Director. I started as a mental health counseling intern in 2011, was promoted from Clinician to Clinical Supervisor, and eventually to Deputy Director. My journey truly speaks to the commitment I have to the work of trauma healing and my love for the organization. My passion is to work as a community to help those who are less fortunate. Collaborating with other agencies, staff members, and teaching professionals is a passion.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As the Executive Director of TRC, my biggest accomplishments have been to see how other mental health professionals help victims of trauma find resolution by providing the therapeutic models they learned from my training.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being the leader of a non-profit organization is finding funding. There are so many agencies looking for donors, and it has become such a stressful part of my job. Thankfully, we are supported by county grants, and that allows us to provide the services, but due to the need for mental health services, we have many people waiting for services. Our services are free, and 90% of our clients receive free mental health therapy.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
TRC has been providing mental health services focused on providing a safe space for victims of trauma to feel heard. We provide advocacy, holistic services, and mental health therapy. Our therapists are trained in Traumatic Incident Reduction ( TIR) and EMDR. We hope to continue supporting our clients with services from our agency and partners committed to helping victims heal.
