What's your business, and who are your customers?
We help people get pregnant! We also help people deliver the healthiest baby possible. From pre-conception to birth, we support all people on their pregnancy journey.
Tell us about yourself
I am a sixth-generation martial artist. Chinese medicine has been in my family for generations. I have run my traditional Chinese medicine clinic for more than 20 years. I healed myself from a major illness using Chinese and western medicine combined. My hope has been to share this knowledge and natural lifestyle with everyone.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When a patient sent a photo of their baby, we realized it was our 1000th successful healthy baby. All the practitioners and staff suddenly realized what tremendous impact they have on the community. We celebrated!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The ups and downs of business, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were forced to close for three months, then implement very restrictive procedures. This has been trying, but we have continued to put patients first. We are proud of our accomplishments over the past two years.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Write a detailed plan. No detail is too small.
- Get advice from a wide variety of specialists, including lawyers, accountants, bookkeepers, marketing specialists, local people with knowledge of your product or service, and family.
- Re-evaluate your goals and plan as required. Don't slavishly stick to your original plan. Be flexible.
