Tell us about yourself

I am a personal fitness trainer and nutritionist living in sunny Indianapolis, IN. I have spent the last eight years staying at the forefront of the health and fitness industry. I have helped hundreds of people lose weight, get in shape, and maintain their healthy lifestyles through proper training and eating habits.

When it comes to fitness, I focus on simplicity -- creating a custom plan that fits your lifestyle. I won't force you to eat chicken breast and broccoli every day or drag you to the gym six times a week if you hate it. I craft personalized workout and diet plans that would be enjoyable and easy to throw into your daily routine until they become a part of your lifestyle.

I first got working on this business, seeing firsthand how my family does not really give importance to health and fitness. That motivated me to do something about it and not fall into the same cycle. My goal is for people to see the essence of fitness and how now is the time to invest in it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment in this line of business (as a fitness enthusiast and trainer) is helping others achieve their fitness goals. Whether it's losing weight, gaining muscle, or simply becoming more active, I love being able to help others see the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to helping others achieve their fitness goals, I'm also proud of the fact that I've managed to stay fit and healthy myself for many years. This has not only allowed me to continue training others but also inspired them to know that it's possible to maintain a healthy lifestyle regardless of age or occupation.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are a few things that can be challenging about being in this line of business. First, it can be difficult to keep up with current research and learn new exercises. Second, I often have to put their own health and well-being last, which can be difficult. Finally, I often deal with people who are struggling or unhappy with their bodies, which can be emotionally draining.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I have three tips that made me survive and thrive:

  1. Identify your personal strengths and weaknesses and build a business around your strengths. No one can be good at everything, so focus on the things you're good at and find partners or employees who can help with the things you're not good at.
  2. Build a great team of people who share your vision and are passionate about your business. A great team is a key to any successful business.
  3. Stay focused and don't get sidetracked by shiny new objects or other opportunities that come up along the way. It's very easy to get distracted, but if you stay focused on your vision, you'll be more successful in the long run.
