What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help people realize the greatest expression of themselves through clean eating and total wellness. My customers are anyone who is sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Tell us about yourself

I am a New York Times best-selling author, founder of the Eat-Clean Diet® health revolution, health and wellness expert, transformation coach, motivational speaker, Star of a Gemini Award Winning reality TV show, physique competitor, and mother of 4.

Do you have daily rituals for work / wellness / fitness / mindfulness?

Thoughts About Ritual:

The word ritual may conjure ideas of religious practice, but ritual and religion are not limited to the church. The simple act of making your morning coffee can be considered a ritual, especially if we are fully present in the making of it.

Rituals apply to many aspects of our daily life, not just making coffee. My Morning Routine can be considered a ritual. I do better when I follow a series of behaviors in progressive order - the definition of the word ritual. I have taken my Morning Routine and adapted it for the evening as well.

What does my Morning Routine look like?

  • Awake at 5:00 am - 6:00 am
  • Hydrate: 750 ml of water
  • Meditate 10-15 minutes minimum, but these days, I am in for at least 30 minutes (twice a day)
  • Educate: Read for personal growth for 20 minutes
  • Create: journal, write, brainstorm for 15 minutes
  • Exercise: Get a sweat on for 30 minutes
  • Nourish: for 30 minutes
  • Shower: hydrotherapy routine (alternate hot and cold x 3, each for the duration of one round of Happy Birthday, ending on cold)

** I leave my phone on only to listen to my meditation. No consumption of social media or other before creation **

One benefit of rituals is that they create, structure, and mark time. How? The act of performing a series of actions on a regular basis shapes the human experience over the course of our lives. Rituals create a safe vessel in which to show up. They reduce anxiety by signaling our brain's constancy and predictability.

The outcome of creating a sense of togetherness is one of the most important aspects of ritual. Groups often use rituals to create stronger bonds among members. When rituals are performed together, a sense of community blooms. Social bonding flourishes when like-minded individuals come together to practice similar activities.

It can be said of bodybuilding, where the rituals of training cement a sisterhood amongst those who practice. You're part of something bigger than yourself. As we navigate a post-Covid world, rituals may just be the answer we need to heal from the isolation and despair the pandemic fostered.

I could recommend my Group Coaching experience, which goes into depth about how to apply these practices and many more in your daily living. The link for Group Coaching is https://toscareno.com/group-coaching/
