Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Todd Quinones, Co-Founder of HCue, located in Henderson, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a communications consulting company that caters to professionals looking to clarify their messaging and get media placement.

Tell us about yourself

After spending 28 years in the broadcast news industry, I wanted to take the skills I learned and apply them to the business community. I was tired of the odd hours in news and the lack of flexibility. I was missing too much of my family life. Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine. So, when I decided it was time to leave, I realized I could really help a lot of people who struggle with crafting and delivering their own messaging.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Carving out a niche in a crowded field. There are a lot of different communications consulting businesses out there, but there are very few, if any, that have our extensive background in news and track record of fact-based storytelling.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Fighting through distractions while working from home. I spent 28 years in the corporate world working in an office. Now I work from home and feel compelled to do chores around the house like laundry, the dishes, etc.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Don't start a business because you are looking to run away from your current job. Make sure you are passionate about your business. Find a great partner.

Where can people find you and your business?
